Book of the Silenced, the memoir by St. Augustine author and health care practitioner Dr. Gordana Smith, DAOM, has been selected for Indie Author Project Select, recognizing it among the best independent books submitted to the program.
Published by Phoenix Rises Press, the book chronicles three wars: Smith’s survival of war in Bosnia, her fight for her son within the American health care system, and the spiritual warfare woven through those experiences.
The selection marks a meaningful milestone for a memoir centered on motherhood, faith, patient advocacy, and the struggle to be heard.
